Joku päivä tuli tämä hörpittyä.
Ei vaan jaksanut perustaa olutta tänne..
Pehmeä.
Makua löytyy ja mukava jälkimaku. Mausteisuutta.
Selvästi sinne parempien holittomien joukkoon.

Eem-panimon 20-vuotisjuhlaolut.

Kaakao papua tuntuisi olevan isosti.
Paahteinen ja mausteinen. 🌶️

Kuohkea 2 sormen paksuinen vaahto ruskeassa sameassa, virkistävässä ja kuivaavassa oluessa.
Hedelmäinen vähän kiukkuisenkin makuinen bitteri ja hyvin mausteinen. Humalointi myös onnistunut.
Hedelmäinen, humalamainen, kukkamainen, mausteinen ja raikas.

Happy BARREL AGED BEER DAY 2025. Always on the first Friday of October. Yippee!! 🍻
Tonight's beer is a Barley Wine. Not barrel aged but the style could be BA. Looks translucent, deep maroon. Restrained carbonation builds a swollen creamy lacing up to one finger. The foamy cover retreats to the sides but still remains relatively impressive.
The nose receives subdued aromas like date and raisin, followed by sweet dough. Predictable. The taste profile is easily recognizable for the style with dried plum, raisin, dough, a faint coffeeish hint and somehow unlinked blackberry. Alcohol is camouflaged but gives small warming pinches every now and then. However, layers are missing.
The body is medium to medium-full. The finish lifts the alcoholic tang marginally higher and, hence, observable.
The sensation left on the tongue is medium-full, deep, intense and lip-glueing. I can also spot a distant alcoholic hint, and it feels marginally warming. Still, fairly one-dimensional.

This beer looks opaque, very deep brown. The laidback carbonation creates a dense moussy head that elevates up to one finger and dissipates to a relatively impressive foam ring on the top.
The nose enjoys pleasant nuances: dark chocolate, cacao nibs, cookie and a pinch of chili with distinct capsaicin. Shy grass waves from a distance. I don't pick smoke but I do find soot. All in all, the olfactory supply gives a thick impression of the upcoming experience.
The tastebuds... well... they like but don't get superthrilled about the set of flavors. The list starts with smoked malt, dry grass and crushed raw cacao bean. Right thereafter, I'm picking grapefruit peel and pith. Where did the chili go? Interesting that I can sense it in the air but, when it reaches the mouth, it vanishes. More or less. Furthermore, the initial thickness melts somewhat at this stage.
The body is light-medium to medium. The ABV justifies it but could definitely support more, as well. The end is more bitter than upfront but fairly similar anyway as to the set of components.
The mouthfeel is medium, a bit smoky, a tad tangy, closed, dry and drying. More harsh than many Rauchbiers, and no cured ham anywhere. However, the weak point here is the absent or very thin chili flavor on the tongue despite the name of the beer. Hence, I can't go higher than this.

Aika rusinainen ja karamellinen belgi ale. Leipäisyyttä. Aika pehmeä ja makeahko. Jälkimaku kuiva ja hieman greippinen. Parasta ennen ensi kuussa. Lahjaksi saatu itse Rudilta.
