Semiclear, brown beer with faint, dark ruby tint and rich, long-lasting carbonation unlocks a cream-colored, cotton head that rises up to one finger. The foamy pillow shrinks gradually to a lower level and leaves the glass clean.
The nose experiences massive sweet brown bread, bags of gingerbread and sweet malt, accompanied by a handful of raisin and a dollop of syrup.
The tongue likes the somewhat oversweet and recognizeably alcoholic gustatory package. I also receive a powerful punch of sweet malt, sweet medium-brown Christmas bread, a pile of gingerbread and a heap of raisin. Furthermore, a bit of date, dried plum and a nice alcoholic tang season the palate.
The body is medium-full. The beer finishes sweet, slightly bitter malt, syrup and caramel, followed by a generous amount of sweet bread and strong biscuit. The aftertaste puts forward also loads of raisin and dried plum. The finish teases the tastebuds for a considerably long time.
The mouthfeel is strong and sappy, relatively lip-glueing as well as a bit boozy. Very quaffable Bock!
