I bought this Washington State beer while on my trip to Montana back in July. Had it sitting at a picnic table outside the teepee I was spending the night in. I think it may have been a little hot, resulting in a lower rating than it deserves.
Short head, deep cola brown. Sweet multi aroma. Light but soft texture. First taste is light on flavor, deep malt with strong notes of roasted bitterness. So far, not that great. The finish arrives to tell a completely different story. First beer I've ever had where the finish is where you experience all the flavor. Strong raw molasses combining with coffee and dark chocolate. On top of it all, a warming liqueur-like alcohol. As the finish recedes only the bittersweet dark chocolate continues.
This beer is much better than I remembered. Has stages, changes flavors, surprise ending. I really enjoy this beer.

Having a final beer before I call it a night in my teepee. No water, no electricity. Getting dark so I have to hurry.
Very dark brown but not opaque. Moderate head that dissipated totally. Dark malt aroma. Thin texture. Flavor is a combination of brown sugar, raw dark chocolate, and a liqueur alcohol twist. Finish has minor sour notes and hints of coffee and chocolate, all very subdued.
