Duo beer with my Texas family ang Alabama family. Just love this. Trying a Texas Imperial stout. Aroma has a sweet chocolate that is a little off. Flavor from the start is bad. Minimal chocolate but the sweet product is artificial to such an unpleasant degree that having another sip is difficult. I did anyway but regretted it. My son, Ryan and me all poured it out. Just plain bad.

Another entry by Brad for the 34th annual SOTS Reunion Impress the Beer Master competition. Final entry, which I've been saving, is a 10th anniversary Imperial milk stout from 2022. The 11% alcohol is upfront with a cocoa chocolate bitterness. Semi-sweet and strong. Notes of dark fruit, dates and fresh raisins. All flavors continue into the finish and then turns a gentle dry. As I suspected, the fact that he entered my favorite beer, and an anniversary beer that's 2 years old, and a darn good beer clearly makes him the winner of the competition. Lakewood 🇺🇸 und Maui aus Hawaii haben beim Kokua IPA die Kräfte in einer Collab gebündelt. Das 4,2% starke Session IPA vom Fass in goldener, leicht trüber Couleur versprüht leichte Citrusnoten und etwas Hoppiness. Am Gaumen ist das Session IPA erquickend, durchaus hoppy und mit feinen Citrus und Grapefruit ausgestattet. Solides Session IPA.

Dritter Taster im Flight bei Lakewood 🇺🇸 ist das Punkel, ein dunkelbraunes Spiced Dunkel mit 5,5% ABV. Im Nosing gibt es dezente Anflüge von Kürbis mit etwas Pumpernickel und Karamellmalz. Am Gaumen zeigt sich das Punkel solide malzig und mit einer Halloween-inspirierten Wurzigkeit (Kürbis, Anis), die durchaus zu gefallen weiß.
