Decent oatmeal stout, pours midnight black with a two finger head. Notes of chocolate, roast, some coffee and robust.

The second entry tonight at 35th SOTS Reunion. Dark yellow, almost copper. Short head, disappeared. Aroma of orange peel. Taste brings the orange but the extra hops adding that level of bitterness makes it tough. Heavy malt , super soft and well balanced. Surprisingly, you get acclimated quickly and the bitterness becomes tolerable. Still, the orange flavor is overwhelmed by the hops resulting in a lower rating.

Had this beer while eating at Terry Black’s, good Pilsner taste and goes well with brisket!

Can't believe I've never had this Texas beer before. Seems appropriate to have it now while watching Texas play Ohio State in the playoffs. Using a Blanco Texas glass from Real Ale. A soft and creamy pilsner. Very smooth, no bite to it at all. Corn malt, not crisp like most others. A definite lemon juice arrives at the middle. During the finish the lemon flavor turns a little tart. Very different from most pilsners in the amount of softness and creaminess in its texture. I actually like this beer a lot.
