Nice dry one

A little treat brought home from vacation. This is brewed in SC. Has a chocolate, spicy rye, nutty toffee taste to it. Heavy malt all the way that is medium bodied. Has just the right amount of rye where it doesn’t overwhelm but gives just enough flavor to make its presence known. Overall an excellent brown ale that is quite unique.

At my son's house for the Alabama vs Georgia football game. Going to need some luck today to win this game. Lightly hazy with a deep yellow orange color. Tart citrus aroma, tangerine and lemon. Hop bitterness hits immediately. It's very strong but my tolerance has increased over the last couple of years. Citrus finally appears out from the hops but not until the finish. Now the citrus turns towards a sour grapefruit. Overall, it's too bitter and the citrus doesn't save it. Came in too late and not distinguished enough. I'll pass.
