The tart almost sour taste adds a kick behind every sip

My trip to Texas has now continued to The Whiskey River Ranch on the Guadalupe River. Immediately greeted by several deer which needed to move so I could park. Roughtail Brewing is a new Brewery for me, located in Oklahoma. Started with a nice tan head but was completely gone by the time I finished the photo. It fizzes up exactly like a Coca-Cola. Plenty of effervescence and then immediately dies down, just like a cola. Aroma of deep malt. More chocolate than coconut. Texture starts heavy, stays creamy but it levels out. Deep roasted malt, toasted chestnuts. I get the sweetness and a very small background of vanilla, but I can't find the coconut or the chocolate that others have on their reviews. It's a drinkable sweet Porter but I'm disappointed that my palate can't reveal the ingredients that they used.

Thick foamy head with aromas of citrus and pine. Even though I prefer my beer path to tread the dark side I found myself enjoying this brew. Has enough malt undertone that enhances the hoppy taste before finishing dry and crisp. Really liked the staying power of the foam although the lacing was rather sparse.
