Travelled to the East coast to find some variety in the craft beer scene. A blind buy IPA from the local liquor store.
Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel, Backburner IPA
Copper color with a small white foam. Sweet and malty scent with some fruits and pine.
The mouthfeel is quite non-promising with being quite watery.
Starts off with a taste of pine, some ”grassy” notes. Then turns into intense malt, caramel and some orange in it. Finishes off a bit hoppy and bitter, but doesn’t seem like an IPA in my opinion? The color suggests more to an amber ale, but malty, balanced and a quite tasty beer. 3.25/5
