Tarkkaa hommaa, ollut varaston jääkaapissa pitkään ja nyt tarkistin niin Best before oli 6.2.2023. Hyvin oli kypsynyt vielä pullossaki . Tämä on oikein maukasta. Ei kannata pitää kiirettä näiden barley wine oluiden kanssa.

Pullosta purkaantui geysir; kolmannes pullon sisällöstä katosi pitkin pöytää alta aikayksikön.

Usually, Lehe hits the right spot with stronger beers. Let's see. Bottle. Best before 6.2.2023 Temperature: +11,5 C Murky, amber color. Off-white head with average retention. Pretty much bubbles rising towards the surface and the cap popped up quite strongly when I opened the bottle: 3,25/5 Nose is red berry sweet and bourbon with a hint of maltiness. I think the berry aroma is too strong: 3/5 Mouthfeel is medium-full, alcohol warmth that strikes first as a boozy but then settles down. Medium-low carbonation. Sharp oaky feel: 3,5/5 Taste of sweet berries, noticeably alcohol that is somewhat like a cheap bourbon and sweet maltiness. Again, the berry is too strongly present. I'd guess this has been fermented too high because of the berry notes and noticeably alcohol. One of my homemade BW was too berry-like and warm because of the fermentation temperature rose too high: 10/15 Not very good Barleywine. Mediocre. Barrel aging isn't working here: 12/20 =31,75/50

BA barleywine Leheltä. Kuulostaa enemmän kuin houkuttelevalta. Hapokkuus miellyttävä, voltit häviää maun alle. Maussa pihkaa ja ruusunmarjaa, vähän asetoniakin. Ei mitenkään säväyttävä varsinkaan BA-olueksi, mutta helposti ostan uudestaan kuitenkin.

18.11.2018 Pieni tiheä vaahto. Samea punertavan ruskea väri. Tuoksu kuin viinimarjamehu hieman hapan. Suutuntuma viinimäinen. Jälkilämpöjä kivasti.

Tynnyrikypsytys tulee tuoksusta ilmi, kuten myös mausta jonkin verran. Hiilihappoja on melko paljon ja alkoholi maistuu aika vahvana. Ei parhaita tynnyrikypsytettyjä oluita tällä kertaa, mutta aivan juotava on kuitenkin.
