After a long day on Samaná Bay watching humpback whales in the ocean, I think I deserve a beer. This time a Guatemalan beer.
Cerveza Social shows clear, honey-tea yellow color. Relatively subdued carbonation unlocks two-finger, clean white, velvety head that adorns the beer for a substantially long time.
Nose receives standard pale malt, a wee bit of dry grass, some corn grits and faint hemp cookies.
The taste portrays smooth pale malt, thin hops, a bit of crackers and very distant lemon peel. A slightly sweet corn starch adjunct completes the palate. Very remote bitterness lingers on tongue.
This light-bodied beer ends with pale malty, sweet corn starchy and somewhat biscuity aftertaste of short to medium duration.
Mouthfeel is light and thin but not watery, somewhat adjuncted, bulky and quite fresh.
