First time having this beer was in 2019. Still learning my palate. Thought it was pretty good but we'll see what I think now. This was canned on November 20th 2024. Hurts to drink it in a way since there will never be another. Who would have ever thought they would go out of business. No one's too big to fail. Might have to keep the can for memories.
Head came up to a inch and a half and is now settling down. Aroma has chocolate, it seems more like a raw cocoa, and perhaps sweet almond? Flavor quickly brings a heavy deep dark chocolate liqueur quality. This is more like dry cocoa powder with an alcohol flavor that seems greater than 9%. After a couple of sips the dryness recedes and the liqueur dominates. I had to do some research on liqueurs used in European chocolates and the Brandy liqueur seems the most appropriate. Maybe it's simply that it's a couple of years old but I'm really enjoying this uniqueness of flavors. It doesn't change or develop going into the finish but it does stay with you quite a while. Nothing wrong with that when you're having a good time.
I think this is the last Rogue beer I have, so, you had a good run guys.

Très légère pour une 9°. Le chocolat est assez présent, mais elle manque d'épaisseur et de puissance.

Tuoksu lupaa suklaata ja mallasta.
Maussa paahteinen mallas on päällimmäisenä, suklaa myötäilee taustalla. Humalointi tuo pientä kitkeryyttä, joka antaa jälkimaulle raakasuklaan oloisuutta.

Medium-high head, doesn't last. Strong aroma, maybe coffee. Totally opaque brown color. Creamy feel. Strong oaky flavor with a bitter sweet chocolate kick. Can taste the alcohol in the back of my mouth. Finish has the bitter sweet flavor that really lasts. Pretty good stout.
