This is the second oldest beer that I’ll get the chance to have a go with. Curiosity of course, but fun one to try. Let’s see this 14-year old piece through. BEER: Dark Horizon EDT.2 BREWERY: Nogne Ø BEER STYLE: Imperial Stout COUNTRY: Norway ABV.: 16.0% COLOUR (EBC): Dark Brown Black (90.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): 65.0 AROMA: Deep in dark malts, some figs and brown sugar. Only slightly boozy. HEAD: Thin and quickly dissappearing beige head. GREY’S VIEW First sip reveals that it really has lost its body during the years. It has glimbses of portwine; being sticky sweet and slow. Might work better as digestive. Taste has melted brown sugars, figs, dry darkmalts and stone kind of minerality. And it’s preeeetty alcoholic. Slow sipper for sure. Taste develops towards maltier, bit woody and rye dry bready being at somepoint. So there is still something more in there! It just requires few moments to really wake up. OTHER NOTES: The bottle size of 16.9oz/0.5l might be a bit too much for me at this point, but sure, I’ll enjoy it for a while here. Pikkulinnun viimeinen pullo. Luultavasti myös koko Suomen. Pullotettu 2007, parasta ennen 2020. Viininen, rusinainen ja vähän alkoholinenkin. Vahva mallasrunko kuitenkin. Hieman katkera jälkimaku. Ei ehkä kestänyt niin hyvin aikaa kuin edellinen. Vaahtoaa vähemmän, eikä niin pehmeä.

Pullotettu 2008, parasta ennen 2020. Tuoksu on makea ja portviinimäinen. Maku äärettömän pehmeä ja viinimäinen, alkoholi lämmittää mukavasti. Maussa rusinaa, hieman kahvinen, mutta erityisesti viininen. Onhan tämä nyt helkkarin kova, eikä toista mahdollisuutta juoda enää tule.

Tiukkaa tavaraa, aika hedelmäistä, jonkun verran hapettumista havaittavissa, mutta sallittakoon se kymmenvuotiaalle oluelle.

Mustaa ja tiukkaa. Vaahtoa ei tästä tavarasta löydy. Maku on jumalattoman terävä ja alkoholipitoinen, parasta ennen päiväys pullossa 2020 ja pantu 2007. Olut on ilmeisesti pilaantunut.
