This is superb!! I’m not a big whisky fan so I was a bit worried it would be overpowering. Not so, it’s slightly woody and earthy from the Glenmorangie barrel ageing but all in the background. There’s dark malts at the fore with notes of sweet chocolate and vanilla, and burnt caramel there’s also a pleasant citrus edge going on. It’s deep, thick, oily and smooth. It conjures up thoughts of bleak Scottish winters. A perfect fireside companion!
