Getting a good caramel like flavor in this one. Not very bitter either.

Overall very pleasant, although I'm hard pressed find the vanilla taste. The flavor seems to be highly dependent on it's aroma. Quite light and delicate for a porter, which makes for easy drinking.

Had this porter before but it's been almost 2 years. Thought I would try it again and see if my pallet has changed.
Starts with a low head, light tan color, even that doesn't last. Color is a very deep red but not totally opaque. Not picking up much of an aroma. Texture is light and crisp. Strength of flavor is weak. Getting traces of vanilla and cocoa. Finish is faint and watery with only a distant memory of vanilla.
When I drink a porter or stout I expect a little more punch, even if it's not an imperial. Flavor was excellent just not much of it. Reducing it from a 4.0 to a 3.2.

Short thin head that quickly dissipated. Faint roasty aroma. Very dark color. Hold to a light and it appears to be a beautiful red . Flavor is roasty, nutty, sweet. Very little carbonation. Mild roasted finish that is faint but continued for longer than I would expect. Did not get the vanilla but really like this beer.
