I am not usually a fan of porters, but I have made an exception with this one. Extremely smooth and best served chilled. And a word on The Sussex ............ really well kept beers, an ever changing selection, and low prices too. What more could you ask for?

Given that it faught against the Mighty Maiden (Trooper) its actually in good condition. Not as hoppy as I expected though.

Dark porter style, well balanced with a sweet edge & very easy drinking for a 4.9% beer, it's moreish!

Very dark chestnut, slight head, coffee aroma. First taste, sweet chocolate and coffee, hoppy bitterness, a surprisingly nice beer.

Good rich porter with a dark fruit and slightly citrus edge. Only reason for mediocre stars is it’s incredibly dry on the finish. Parched!
