A Traditional, British style. Robust and full bodied. Introduced as a member of the Winter Classics Mix Pack in 2004, Samuel Adams® Holiday Porter with its rich malt complexity has become a favorite among our winter seasonal brews. In total, five varieties of malted barley are used in the brewing process including a variety of German malt called Carafa®. The Carafa® gives our Holiday Porter its smooth, roasted malt character. Add generous portions of imported hops to the mix and one has a brew that is both robust and high in drinkability.

Medium high thick head. Doesn't last. Very faint coffee aroma. Crisp and dry. Bitter burnt coffee flavor. Finish is burnt coffee and brief. Ok but nothing special.

Roasted malts, chocolate and a slight bit of caramel in the aroma. Taste has chocolate, caramel and then roasted malts. Tasty beer. Medium body with a medium-high carbonation that's somewhat prickly. Dial back the carbonation and this could be great, but it's not bad at all. I'd give this a 3.75 and will definitely enjoy the other bottle I have. 3.75/5

This one is difficult to describe. The reason is there is something there but in reality there's not much to it.
This has some roasted malts, a little chocolate, a little spice & little dark fruit. Sounds great but everything is so weak that it just in some ways has nothing to it. That is the best way I can describe it. I don't think I've ever had something so bad but kind of good like this before.
Overall I'm giving it a 2.5 which maybe a little generous. It obviously needs more but has a little something, something. You'll need to have one then you'll get it. (But just get one - then go from there)
