Flying Dutchman Spiced Ale
4.5% Golden Ale / Blond Ale
Brewed with pale and wheat malt to create a light bodied spring ale, this refreshing characteristic is enhanced by the addition of coriander, orange peel and the “secret ingredient” liquorice to complement the subtle hop flavour (Mar-May Henk has over 30 years’ experience in brewing lager and working on research and innovation at the Heineken Brewery. He’s returned to the Caledonian Brewery (Edinburgh) for the third time to brew this new beer especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. It is burnished copper in colour, with a zesty, grassy aroma and fresh malt flavours, with the addition of lemongrass, cardamom and coriander contributing to the spicy finish. Hops: Styrian Goldings. Brewed specially for JDW Real Ale Festival, Autumn 2015.
