Sorachi Ace is the another IPA in our Single Hop Series, released late Fall 2012. The Sorachi Ace hop varietal was developed for Japanese brewery Sapporo but American craft breweries have since taken a liking to this unique hop with its complex aroma and flavor characteristics. Sorachi Ace pours a deep amber color with an off-white head. Its aroma is a mixture of its characteristic lemony citrus character as well having woody, minty, and ginger notes. The beer's toasted malt flavors, with a touch of caramel, is balanced against the Sorachi Ace's piney and citrusy hop flavor. Hop bitterness is assertive without being overwhelming. This is a moderately full bodied beer, with medium-high carbonation, and dry finish that leaves you wanting more of this unique hop!
