Moderate dark malty nose with background vegetal and sweet floral alcohol notes. As the beer warms a nice bready maltiness comes through. Clear dark garnet beer with prodigious frothy tan head that persists well. Moderately intense Munich malty flavor smoothly transitions to a toasty bread crust finish. Balance is slightly toward malt sweetness but bitterness balances well. Mouthfeel is full and creamy but doesn't linger on the palate. Overall an excellent balance between full malt flavor and the dryness required to make an extremely drinkable dopplebock.
