Winter Wheat is a dark, unfiltered wheat beer (in German, Dunkelweizen). A heady aroma of spice and a smooth caramel taste give way to a clove-like finish.
The Winter Wheat label is a reproduction of a label that John Cassou, owner of the Peerless Saloon, pasted on bottles of Anaheim Beer around 1914. The original label is in our display case.
John Cassou's daughter, Rose, married Leonard Hessel, one of the family that were the last pre-Prohibition makers of Anaheim Beer. Nice, huh?
Available by the glass, growler, and in 6-packs.
