In order to capture the spirit of modern American brewing, we looked to our creative passions and quirky habits. Coffee has been a large part of many of our lives, and more recently, American brewers have taken to combining the enchanting aromas and flavors of the two brews. We looked to this inspiring movement and created our Belgian-Style Coffee Ale, a strong Belgian style ale built with pleasing caramel malts and infused with cold-brewed coffee from Augies in Redlands. To keep this release decidedly original, the green coffee beans were aged in a freshly emptied Pugachev's Cobra barrel for 3 months, resulting in a truly unique coffee addition of cocoa, bourbon and dark fruit flavors. Coupled with a host of complex esters from the Belgian yeast, this beer delivers a novel approach to the fusion of two intriguing American brews.
