The Pugilist is nearly black in color with a balanced roasted character. The beer is light in alcohol, but full of aroma and flavor. There is a slight sharpness coming from both hop bitterness and roasted barley, but its thin body, lower than normal carbonation levels, and a slight acidic character rounds out the beer to be smooth and pleasant.
