Dingle La Pue's Belgian yeast esters of pear and spice unexpectedly arise from this dark black ale. An initial fermented fruitiness shifts towards flavors of deep roasted cocoa and charred woody pine. Dingle La Pue has a heightened bitterness, from the additions of spruce tips and heavily roasted specialty grains. This bitterness lingers on the palate, along with a thin trace of spiciness.
