Black William 5.0%, Adur Brewery, England

Black William
5.0% Stout
A rich black coloured stout with a creamy head. Powered by Target hops, it is in the middle of the bitterness scale and contains a very high proportion of chocolate malt that contributes to the dark chocolate aroma and roasted flavours.

Blimey! A heavy stout from our local brewery. Cheers!

So disappointed. I've been really looking forward to this beer as it looks so exciting. Great packaging, chocolate malt stout - all the things I like. I'm actually wondering whether there was something wrong with my bottle! As soon as I popped the top, it bubbled up through the neck. As I poured the head fizzed and bubbled - is this how it should be? Certainly not what I'm used to. First taste and it is very bitter, very malty, to the point of questioning whether it is right, and checking the best by date, but it all seems to be fine. Maybe I just got a duff bottle, but did not enjoy it.
