You´ve heard of Dubbels and Trippels (maybe even Quadrupples), but have you heard of Singels? Traditionally, Singel Ales are similar to Trippels, but not as strong in alcohol. They were brewed to be consumed by the monks with meals in the Refectory (dining hall), thus the name (the monks sell the stronger stuff to support the Abbey). This beer is brewed in the single style with Saaz and Tettnager hops.
