Bourbon hits first in the aroma, followed by oak and vanilla. Maybe some chocolate as well. Taste has bourbon and oak right up front. This beer definitely picked up a lot of the barrel. Vanilla follows that, with a bit of chocolate in the mid-palate and back end. A bit of a rye spiciness as well. The 2014 version was aged in rye bourbon barrels, so maybe this one was too. I'm really enjoying this one. Nice medium+ to medium-full body with a medium-low carbonation. Man, I wish this would show up in my area, cause I'd definitely buy more. One I'll look for yearly. 4.5/5
As this warms up more, some coffee is starting to show up. Still a 4.5/5
