The Boatyard Brewing Company lauds the beauty of the northern waters, those that run cold and deep. While we love the tastes of the north, occasionally we turn to tropical flavors, and coconut is one of our favorite. Our local brewing friends make great beers with tropical influences. Gonzo at Bigg Dogg Brewing makes an outstanding vanilla porter while the brewers at Paw Paw Brewing have created one of our favorite coconut porters. While we didn't want to step on friendly toes, we wanted to bring our twist on these flavors. With that in mind, we created our Eclipse Porter. Our Eclipse Porter uses our standard porter recipe with a nice helping of molasses. When this beer ends it fermentation, then we start our magic. We then age this porter with a heavenly vanilla extract and six pounds of toasted coconut per barrel. The result is slightly sweet and rich with flavo
