Brewed to benefit Community Homeworks of Kalamazoo for the Furnace Fest 2014, this rich ale was mashed with a hearty grain bill of pale ale, brewers, Munich, dark caramel and roasted barley malts. We tossed in a wee amount of traditional peat-smoked malt right from the Scottish moors. Gimme Shelter was hopped with traditional U.K. varieties, including Fuggles and Goldings. This beer was fermented with one of our UK house yeasts. The result was a big ale that is very malt forward with a light smoke finish. If you are a bourbon drinker, you are going to love this beer.
