In Tillamook Bay, Oregon's rich dairylands run parallel to the scenic sandy beaches and rocky windswept cliffs carved by the Pacific Ocean. We've brewed and bottle conditioned this Belgian-Style golden ale to reflect the Oregon Coast's inspiring landscape & unique heritage. Golden Pelican features an herbal, fruity and hoppy aroma, bright gold color, and a clean dry finish. Brewed as the first entry to our quarterly Belgian-Style release, Golden Pelican uses malted rye to emphasize the balanced spicy character inherent in the "Farmhouse" yeast. Generously dry-hopped with Aramis hops, the fresh herbal nose marries with the yeast-driven fruity / spicy aromas. A lean-bodied, toasty malt character supports copious amounts of hop flavor. Golden Pelican finishes with a clean, snappy balance of malt flavor, hop bitterness, and slightly tart, spicy yeast character.
