On the nose, smokey, boozy coconut. Burnt sugar. To the eye. Jet black with a beautiful creamy head that dissipates rapidly. Taste. Wow that is insane. The flavours hit you like a freight train. I am not exaggerating. At 1700 beers I have never had one with such intense upfront flavour like this it's like a nice version of licking a battery, that immediate hit to the tongue. Big roasty coffee flavour, sweetness following behind taking the bitterness away and then coconut with a warm boozy finish. This would be absolutely phenomenal to have on a winter evening next to an open fire. I shall buy another for this purpose.

From own storage. Full and sweet body. Dark malts dominantly present on the body with pleasantly balanced coconut on the background. Holds its alcohol content very well, it's there on the core but still from the taste you wouldn't believe this is 12,5%. Aftertaste adds mild coffee bitters and rises the coconut more to the top. After considerable time dark chocolate and faint cherries are added to the mix. Veeery long and pleasant aftertaste. Excellent. And as with imperial stouts, I recommend to taste this rather too warm than too cold, the taste just gives way more that way. Pohjola seems to start being my choice to go, when I want reliably taste good Imperial stouts.
