Oak stands out the most to me in the aroma. I'm also getting a little bit of chocolate. Bourbon, a little bit of chocolate and some hoppiness stand out in the taste. There's a breadiness in there as well as some caramel. For being a brown ale aged in bourbon barrels, I wish the bitterness was a little less and the bourbon was a little more. The bitterness does fade some as I continue to sip, but I may just be getting used to it. Not a bad brown ale, but I've had better and expected more from this one. 3.75/5

Full bodied brown ale with caramel and toasty notes rounded out by the sweet char from the bourbon barrels. High in alcohol but doesn't feel like it, very easy to drink.
