Red Velvet Nitro
5.5% Stout
Our Red Velvet oatmeal stout is a mind-bending beer. Like the cake that inspired it, the deep red color comes from beets, which add a rich, earthy character that complements the chocolate flavor and aroma. The foamy head of the nitro pour is our “icing”, adding a creamy smoothness to the mouthfeel. But this liquid dessert still finishes like a beer – not sweet, but just as satisfying.

Just not my cup of tea. Sweet - tastes like beets, chocolate, maple Definitely malty. I'm not a big fan of red velvet so I shouldn't be surprised. The cool bottle got me. I can't stay away from skulls

Not too shabby ! Definitely a different style of Stout.. The flavor is spot-on to red velvet. It is very sweet and it is made with beets which gives it an awesome red vibrant color. I will recommend this one, mostly because I love how different it is. Cheers 🍻

Too bad the actual beer doesn't live up to the hype or the bottle art. I get a vanilla smell from the foamy white head, but then the taste is something totally different. Maybe spice cake? I don't eat beets so maybe it's beet flavor, but I definitely don't get any chocolate. Glad I bought just one bottle to give it a try.

I like generally like Ballast Point beers, and figured this to be a slam dunk. Red Velvet? With glorious bottle art (some of the best I've ever seen), featuring King Death is his glory, presiding over a sumptuous meal, proudly holding a red velvet cake aloft? Shut up and take my money! I had high hopes for this beer. My first warning should have been the screaming pink color, transparent body, and total lack of a head. Any head. At all. The flavor was mild, even - dare I say - meek. The only flavor that I can ascribe to it is "diluted cherry cough syrup." On the whole, not worth even half of the $14 that I spent on the six pack. I've tried drinking it cold, room temperature, and in between. I've "poured with purpose," as said on the bottle. No discernable change in quality or flavor. I also still have two left, and it's against my brain to waste beer - even one that I don't like. So far, this is my longest review, and, of course, it's about a beer that I didn't like. I'll do better next time. Hopefully, Ballast Point will do the same.

Meh. Nitro beers tend to be washed out tasting to me. They never tend to have big flavor like regular beers do. I've noticed that with stouts that seemed watery while drinking them. Not even that much nitro in the bottle, kinda flat.
