Railbender Ale 6.8%, Erie Brewing Company, United States
4 notes
Railbender Ale
6.8% Scottish Ale
Erie, Pennsylvania, the site where three sets of railroad track gauges met, was an important transportation hub in the mid-nineteenth century. Railbender Ale is named after the laborers who laid the railroad tracks. It is brewed with pride, strength and purity; symbolic of Erie’s historic railroads and their workers. Railbender is a strong Scottish Style Ale with astonishing drinkability. One try and you’ll want to “Bend the rules and ride the rails!”

Railbender Ale, United States
3.3
Has a strong toasted caramel/toffee malt taste that’s very sweet. This seems to also have a little molasses to it which is probably a reason for the sweetness. Overall it’s doesn’t truly match up as a Scottish ale as advertised I was hoping for more of a Smokey pete taste. The sweet malt taste isn’t bad but is a little too much on the sweet side. I’ll give it a 3.3 as it is a decent beer. Just sweet.
