Stopped by the brewery on a road trip through Vìk last month. Their stout and DIPA were spot on so had high hopes for this. Unfortunately it wasn’t what I expected. Smelt lovely and fresh on opening but as you can see from the colour it has quite a heavy malt character. The bitterness is heavy too, so it’s very much in the realms of west coast profile but a tad too much for me. Something is out of balance and the flavour profile isn’t quite hitting home. It’s pithy and dry, hints of bread dough. Finishes with a long and somewhat astringent bitterness.
