Local authorities apprehended a "wild looking individual…short, stocky, be-whiskered, unkept [sic]…and with no visible means of support" in La Grange in February 1929. While being transported to Whitewater city hall, this "Wild Man" wiggled free, leading several officers on a short chase in front of what is now Second Salem Brewing Company's building.
