Brewed in 2023 and aged for the best part of the year in Oak barrels that previously held bourbon, this English Barleywine is a warming malt forward indulgence perfect for winters evening. Chewy crystal malts and a biscuity cinder toffee flavour whilst a small addition of rye gives a little peppery spice on the otherwise pleasantly fruity finish. The luxury of time in barrels has added an oakiness and smoothness that rounds off the experience

Wasn’t as I expected.
Aromas of caramel and vanilla abound. This gave way to a fruity caramel flavour profile which started off really well. Hints of smokiness and wood character came through too. The back end gave way to some slightly unpleasant juiciness. I couldn’t pinpoint t it, not sour, not bitter, but acidic in some way. Canned in September 24 it still has a few months to run into its BBE date, but I think this could roast its best.
