Alexander Murray was a Union Navy Rear Admiral during the U.S. Civil War. In 1862, while in command of the screw steamer Louisiana, he destroyed twenty-seven enemy vessels and approached to within 11 miles of Richmond, the capital of the Confederacy. The USS Murray, deployed in WWI, was his namesake. Murray's Mead is hand-crafted in small batches near the historic Allegheny Arsenal. Full-bodied with notes of honey caramel. This makes a perfect entry-level mead.
