Belgian Quadrupel Barrel Aged, Slovenia
4.3
The last untasted beer of this bar is a Quadruple. Barrel aged. It's a must! The appearance is opaque, dark brown. A stunning dense moussy creamy head that swells one finger thick and decorates the top for a long time. Red wine is really sexy in the scent. Not too provocative but definitely not shy either. Dark chocolate and roasted sweet malt escort the chief star. Not very complex but truly intriguing! 🖤🖤 Oooh! I 🖤 the taste! Sooo balanced with an intensive barrel slam. Copious medium-sweet red wine, big barrel notes, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, brown malt and a wink of brown sugar land on my tastebuds. Seductive indeed! The body is medium at maximum. The end is similar to upfront, bowls of red wine with barrel nuances. The mouthfeel is medium, vinous, barrel aged, soft, smooth and astonishingly balanced. Intense but by no means aggressive. Complexity is the weak link but otherwise this is applaudable.
