I always like the stemmed glass, even though they are poor value for money here.
Pour left a yellow body, murky with haze and a little bit of white foam that didn't last.
Scents at first a are strong wheat base with white grape, slightly reminiscent of a farmhouse beer. Faint pineapple with it's sour sweetness comes through in the rear with the basil coming after that.
Mouthfeel is crisp with a moderate sour bite. Mild carbonation is present but the medium to light body is mostly foamy and leaves a little bit of a slick coating in the mouth.
Taste is pleasant but unfortunately a little thin. It starts like the scent, with the farmhouse wheat and crisp white wine hit upfront. Pineapple is a strong flavour so I didn't expect ir to be as muted as it is...perhaps they has to be? The pineapple is only faintly identifiable in some sips, a generic sweetness is what is found the rest of the time. The basil is clear and presents a nice shift to both compliment and balance the other notes, and carries well into the aftertaste.
A nice tasting sour, though the sourness is too muted in my opinion.
