This is going to be a compare review. I have 2 IPA’s that are grapefruit based. I wanted to see which one was better. I liked them both. Saved one of each to do a compare. Here we go. Starting with Juice Drop Hazy Grapefruit IPA: This is slightly juicy and a bit zesty. It’s sweet and bitter. Has some other fruit that is a hint+ of tangerine and with just a hint of mango. Has a tangy finish to it. Citrus Slayer: This has a lot of grapefruit that is a little zesty. Has a little pink grapefruit adding some sweetness but is still mainly hoppy and bitter. I got a little pine at first but that faded. Has some hints of sweet bread and caramel malt but they are hidden in the background. Compare results: They are quite different as I remembered them being grapefruit based hence the compare. The Juice Drop seemed juicier with the other fruit contributing a tasty enhancement. The Citrus Slayer is more geared towards grapefruit and on the hoppy and bitter side. It also has some sweetness from the malt and sweet grapefruit toning the bitterness down a little. I really enjoyed them both given the different attributes they have. It is really close but I lean towards Citrus Slayer. Mainly because it was more hoppy and bitter. This was a fun and tasty compare.

Surprise, this is citrusy that is mainly grapefruit that is slightly juicy and zesty. There is a light touch of tangerine and just a hint of mango added in too. It has a sweetness to it with the hoppy bitterness counter acting it that lets it finish on the bitter side. This was nice and not a grapefruit bomb that I thought it would be. Best by 11/20/25. 6 days too old. I still have one of these left and another grapefruit IPA that I had fairly recently. I’ll have to do a side by side review someday.
