Impenetrable, deep sludgy brown beer with excessive carbonation starts to push itself out of the can immediately as I crack it open. Fortunately, I managed to avoid the mess. Canned 2 Oct 2023, best before 2 Oct 2025. And indeed, the fawn head is ridiculous as it fills the entire glass.
Strong red wine in the fragrance. Medium-dry. Purple grape is obvious. Maybe barrel notes in the background. I'm also imagining faint dark chocolate but it may well be my imagination since the red wine nuance seems to overshadow everything else.
The red wine proceeds determinedly also on the tongue but, fortunately, leaves space also for other flavors. Dark chocolate, cookie and purple grape can be recognized. The barrel notes follow.
The body is full. The finish is narrow and one-sided: red wine barrel only. Not particularly powerful but kills everything else.
The mouthfeel is full, vinous, dry, drying and barrel aged. Massively effervescent. Still, relatively soft and smooth. Not fully balanced, the carbonation should be calmer.
