I have big expectations with this Pale Ale. The label art looks appealing, to start with.
The beer itself is relatively hazy, honey hued. A creamy head develops two fingers thick and shrinks fast to a dense lace ring that clings onto the glass like a child to a lollipop. It doesn't seem to disappear at all. Why should it?
The fragrance is basically attractive but a little restrained though: orange, tangerine, lemon and apricot are the key elements here. Maybe a whisper of peach, too.
The taste profile shrinks even more from the olfactory phase. Lemon is the dominant component on the tongue. All parts, especially pith. Grapefruit peel, grass and a hint of pine complement the experience. Nevertheless, my expectations for a banger remain unmet.
The body is light minus. The tail is short, citrusy and pithy. Not really spectacular at this point.
Feels rather light, zesty, pithy and marginally pulpy only. Okay, a decent refresher but far from a blast. I should have dropped my expectations and just received what I got.
