I really enjoyed this when in fact I was geared up for something bang average. I was expecting chocolate and raspberry paired with sweetness. What I actually got was an abundance is fresh raspberry notes, some slight tartness, lots of raw cocoa notes and then the single malt barrel takes over giving a real earthiness to it. Peaty with a hint of smoke and a gentle spirit-like booziness. Smooth and easy drinking. The barrel contrasts with the beer bringing a complex yet balanced flavour profile.
