Dark copper in colour with little carbonation and a thick, light tan head.
Guys I'm going to level with you, my sense of smell and taste are shot and I don't think I can give you a fair assessment of any beer in that respect. I think you can do better than me at it.
It seems all I can ever smell or taste is the level of hops in a beer and I can tell you this one ain't got much of it.
This'll probably change my review style a little but I'll still give you my honest opinion on beers whenever I can.
Anyway this bitter has a smooth, thick mouthfeel and goes down easy on a rainy Wednesday. I do think I prefer Trooper as a bitter if I'm honest but this has it beat on abv so the choice is yours.
I would pair this beer with a decent roast chicken pie and some mash.

Dark chestnut colour, no head, bitter malty aroma. First taste, hoppy and malty, some bitterness. It doesn't taste its 5%.

Golden coloured bitter ale, slight head, hoppy aroma. Very citrusy hopped taste with a lingering bitterness aftertaste. Full mouthfeel, a bit creamy.
