No-Fly Zone
8.0% New England DIPA / Hazy Imperial IPA
No-Fly Zone refers to any region of airspace where it's established that certain aircraft cannot fly. The same rule is in force with Kiwis which mainly reside in New Zealand and are flightless and cute as hell. We heard that Kiwis love NZ hops so our friends at Freestyle Hops pitched in and sent us Nelson Sauvin & Motueka. We sprinkled some Citra to the mix and we love the outcome. Cheers!

Hedelmäinen, aprikoosi päälimmäisenä kera Nelsonin rypälemäisyyden. Aavistuksen kuivahkon makeahko…maut aaltoilevat kivasti. Jälkimaku kääntyy kuitenkin hieman kuivahkon suuntaan.

After-sauna beer. Enjoyed hot sauna and a couple of short swims in the lake. Water is refreshing 5°C. Foggy, deep warm yellow to light orange beer with quite restrained carbonation fails to build a proper head but it's rather an impotent lacing only. The haze is dispersed to several moldy patches floating on the surface. Pineapple, green grape, kiwifruit, grapefruit pulp and lemon zest compete for the best performer of the year. I mean beer. Very attractive except for the fact that marginal onion is trying to reach my nostrils. The tropical cocktail changes a bit when it reaches my tastebuds: grass, lemon pith, grapefruit zest and raw pineapple peel. I'm trying to analyze the concoction if there's any onion there. Might actually be. Or. Not sure though. The body is medium. Not necessarily a winner potential with this body–ABV combination. Ends slightly crisper with grass and various citruses but not the sweet ones. The mouthfeel is medium, creamy, soft, smooth, zesty and only moderately tropical. It's a tad dry and drying and slightly crisp. Not the best product by this brewery, unfortunately.
