Another Qrew. A Japanese Lager, brewed with rice. Surprise me positively! The appearance is relatively lucid straw. The carbonation is outward-oriented as a white, basically bubbleless head climbs two fingers high. The fast disappearing froth leaves a neat lacing plus big wrappings on the glass thereafter. Cereal, particularly rice krispies, in the fragrance. Yes. No steam rice. A small injection of lemon maybe but that's it. Very simple and straightforward. The taste is a bit thin, slightly sweet and leaves more questions than gives answers. Rice krispies bring a cerealy slam to the tastebuds. A small tweak of white sugar? Lemon zest and lemonade. A whisper of orange, too. The body is thin. What else? The style doesn't promise much more, yet the ABV clocks 5 %. Not watery in that sense. The finish serves exactly the same components as upfront, up to the level of mild cerealy sweetness. And it dies relatively fast. The mouthfeel is thin, zesty, soft, smooth and significantly easy. Characterless. But is it because of the style or within the style? Remains unanswered. Also marginally lip-glueing. A difficult substyle for me, definitely not my favorite but I still try to be honest with the style qualifications. Okay, this is the second best place in Geneva. La Jonquille is, of course, number one, no question about it. This is not only for beers but all kinds of alcohol. And cannabis. Even some small snacks. Now I need to find out who the h*ll is Tom.
