Olutsatama 2024, Day 2. Let the journey continue! 🎢
I will start cautiously with a turbid, deep dark brown beer. A dense moussy coffeeish head. My nose finds brown sugar, oaky barrel notes, dried plum, dark malt and a roasted hint. Intense dark malty flavor on the tongue, slightly roasted actually. Additionally, I pick raw chocolate, raw cacao powder, oakwood, soaked barrel and plum peel.
Medium-full to full body. Finishes with dry raw chocolate, raw cacao and barrels. The mouthfeel is medium-full, faintly roasty, a tad dry, drying and slightly sticky. Fairly balanced, as well.
I don't know what Marsala tastes like but this barrel version must be dry.
