Went into the glass heavy. An inch of deep tan head. Aroma reveals the expected Maple syrup, but added a white chocolate quality. Perhaps that's the marshmallow. While writing this, the head has completely disappeared. Texture is heavy, soft and exceedingly creamy. Although not touted as a flavor from the brewery, I get a distinct milk chocolate. The chocolate is the dominant flavor with the Maple syrup, the marshmallow and a hint of coffee just before the finish. It's also very sweet but not overpowering. The finish brings no new surprises, pretty much what you got in the first sip. Now let's talk about the alcohol. It's 12.8%, and that's a pretty good level of alcohol. You should expect to get a little punch out of that. The only evidence I get is a little warming in the back of the mouth. Nothing going down the throat, nothing going up the nasal cavity, nothing in the belly. Is it really there? Overall, I have always been partial to sweet dessert stouts. This has pretty good flavor but I'm confused as to why the chocolate isn't mentioned on the can. Good beer but not remarkable or memorable.
