Boulder Beach 4.4%, The Orkney Brewery (Sinclair Breweries), Scotland

Boulder Beach
4.4% American Pale Ale
Boulder Beach is a bright 4.4% golden, single hop American Pale Ale. The Columbus hop offers both aroma and bitterness with offers herbal and strong lemon citrus flavours, with a bold punchy hoppy finish for such a smooth beer. Our boulder beach on Orkney is in Rackwick Bay, where there are an array of rocks with varied colours. The boulders are worn smooth by the frequent tides. This natural phenomenon seems almost from out of this world, a bit like this beer.

Golden, hoppy & citrus. To be honest the citrus tang was a bit much for me, didn't find it particularly smooth (horses for courses, as they say)

One of the best from the Wetherspoons beer festival this March 2024. It has a lovely bitter finish and is a proper IPA without being too fruity.

JDW Beer Festival, Spring 2024. Citrusy and hoppy with fruit aromas and flavours. Reasonable beer.
