A very pale and hazy DIPA that I'm having late..as this was a Halloween brew really. It had a lively pour but has now settled down to a minimal ring of froth.
On the nose is a soft plethora of tropical and citrus fruit. Aromas of satsuma, grapefruit, mango, pineapple and passionfruit.
In the mouth it's very smooth, silky almost creamy, full bodied and a very alcoholic finish, too much so for me; the typical pine finish of a NEIPA being overwhelmed by alcohol taste. Perhaps it's because this can isn't the freshest but I have read previous incarnation of this seasonal brew were also "strong" so it may be a trait of this beer.
There is a rich hoppy tang though, like Cyro or something. You get used to the "strong" tasting finish somewhat and I hope it mellows as this beer breathes but at the moment it tastes like a grapefruit vodka or something, the poor mango element being crushed. Perhaps the name of this brew explains the hardcore alcoholic taste, that they've made it more imposing to match the Evil Dead theme.
Unless I edit this, I'd say it's not that great for me personally.
